Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills. The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches. The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance. 3. Dreame X40 The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time. The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance. The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement. Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy. The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished. The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful method to keep your home cleaner for longer. There's a wealth of options available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or make use of the buttons on the device itself.
